Spaghetti Diagram
The spaghetti diagram serves to visualize work processes and material flows.
The primary goal in creating a spaghetti diagram is to uncover waste in work processes. With the help of the spaghetti diagram, the types of waste "transport" and "movement" can be clearly illustrated.
For this purpose, the distances traveled during the production process are entered in the form of lines in a layout of the production area. The more unproductive the process flow, the more confused the lines are on the layout. The name spaghetti diagram comes from the fact that such representations often resemble a plate of spaghetti in their appearance.
